About the Author Joanne Morcom
is an internationally
published Canadian poet
whose work has been translated
into Arabic, Japanese, German and Russian.
She’s a member of Haiku Canada, Tanka
Canada and The Writers Guild of Alberta. As
a member of the Magpie Haiku Poets, she
collaborated on the haiku anthology A Piece
of Eggshell in 2004. Her scifaiku chapbook A
Nameless Place appeared in 2006, and remains
a Sam’s Dot Publishing bestseller. Her poetry
postcards and broadsheet are available from
pooka press. She presents haiku and tanka
workshops at The Alexandra Writers’ Centre
Society in Calgary, Alberta. She’s also a social
