About the Author
Laura Maffei is the editor of the poetry journal American Tanka, which she
founded in 1996. She received her B.A. from SUNY-Binghamton and her
M.A. and M.F.A. from The University of Texas at Austin. She has worked
as a technical writer, a corporate “communications specialist,” and a
teacher of literature and writing at Wagner College, St. John’s University,
Lawrence Woodmere Academy, and Johns Hopkins University’s Center
for Talented Youth. This is her first collection.
